Even if it’s “just a bit of trim,” animals still had to die for that fur collar or cuff, which is why PETA is keeping up the pressure on Chinese retailer Meters/bonwe to stop using real fur trim on its coats and jackets.
Undercover investigators have documented horrific suffering on Chinese fur farms, including animals being yanked out of their cages, thrown to the ground, and bludgeoned. Some animals are not killed outright and are skinned alive as they frantically struggle to escape. One investigator recorded on video a raccoon dog—the same species killed for Meters/bonwe’s coats—who had been skinned alive, but who still managed to muster the strength to lift his bloody head and look at the camera.
Despite hearing from PETA that animals on fur farms are kept in such cramped, filthy cages that they go insane from the confinement, and that they are beaten, drowned, electrocuted, gassed, and/or skinned alive, Meters/bonwe continues to use real fur on its jackets.
The only way to eliminate the suffering of animals exploited by the fur trade is not to sell it, which is why hundreds of major designers and retailers—including Zara, Calvin Klein, Mango, H&M, Stella McCartney, and Vivienne Westwood—have already banned fur.
Don't let Meters/bonwe continue to profit off animal suffering. Write to the company today and tell it that as long as it sells any fur-trimmed items, you’ll take your business elsewhere.
