Animals are not ours to experiment on, eat, wear, use for entertainment, or abuse in any other way.

Praya Lundberg is an Angel for Animals in New PETA Campaign

White Lotus star Praya Lundberg is using her celebrity power for a cause close to her heart—animal adoption. In PETA’s latest campaign, Lundberg poses with her beloved rescued dog, Pirate Arthur, wearing a stunning pair of iridescent angel wings to remind everyone to spay and neuter their animal companions and to always adopt, never shop.

“There’s no such thing as being ethical when it comes to selling or buying a life. I highly, highly recommend the adoption experience.”

The Urgent Need to Adopt Animals in Thailand and Beyond
Lundberg, who has adopted four rescue dogs, is passionate about giving animals a second chance at life. Across Thailand and much of Asia, tens of thousands of animals are homeless and struggling to survive on the streets. Some are born there, while others are cruelly abandoned by their owners. These dogs and cats are at risk of starvation, being hit by cars, contracting life-threatening diseases, or being abused by cruel people.

Adoption is a lifeline for homeless animals, and spaying and neutering prevent them from reproducing and leaving even more animals with nowhere to go. Plus, sterilizing animals decreases roaming, which in turn reduces the chance of injury, illness, and abuse.

Never Buy Animals from Puppy Mills, Breeders, or Pet Stores
PETA’s investigations across China, Indonesia, Vietnam, South Korea, and other parts of Asia have exposed the cruelty inherent in puppy mills and commercial breeding facilities. In every case, the findings are the same:

  • Dogs confined to miserable, filthy cages, and forced to stand on painful wire mesh or in their own waste

  • Animals left outside without shelter and exposed to harsh weather condition

  • Animals showing signs of psychological distress and untreated illnesses and injuries

  • Puppies torn from their mothers at a young age, which leads to emotional and health problems

Pet stores source the animals they sell from puppy mills. Never buy animals from pet stores, breeders, or anywhere else that profits from selling animals—not only does it line the pockets of greedy breeders, but it also denies a homeless animal a chance at adoption.

An Angel for All Animals
Praya Lundberg has also advocated for the freedom of "Bua Noi," a gorilla who has been held at the notoriously shabby Pata Zoo for over 30 years. Wearing a bold "Free Bua Noi" t-shirt, Lundberg joins PETA in calling for the lonely gorilla's release.

“It’s wrong to have animals in captivity. Bua Noi has spent decades in misery, locked away in a concrete enclosure above a department store. It’s time for her to be moved to a sanctuary where she can finally enjoy the freedom and care she deserves.”

Praya’s Plea: Adopt, Don’t Shop
“There’s so many little puppies, like Pirate Arthur, out there who need your love today,” she urges. And always spay and neuter your animals. It’s the only way to give every animal a chance to live in paradise.

Pledge Not to Buy Animals

I want to help put an end to animal homelessness. By signing my name, I pledge not to buy companion animals from breeders or pet stores. If I choose to bring an animal into my life, I will adopt from an animal shelter.
