Every coat, piece of trim, or accessory made of fur and sold by Taiwanese fashion brand iROO came from an animal who endured a terrifying and painful death.
Many animals used in the fur industry spend their lives inside cramped cages—where they frantically pace back and forth, gnaw on the bars, and mutilate themselves—before being electrocuted, bludgeoned, gassed, or even skinned alive. Others are caught in steel traps, which slam shut on their legs and often cut down to the bone, causing excruciating pain and blood loss. They may suffer for days in these traps.
There’s no need to be cruel to stay warm and look good. Cruelty-free fabrics such as faux furs are available everywhere. Hundreds of major retailers and designers—including Zara, Prada, Mango, Versace, Michael Kors, Gucci, Calvin Klein, Burberry, and Balenciaga—have stopped selling fur, reflecting the ethics of the vast majority of people, who believe that animals shouldn’t be tormented and killed for fashion
